The national Rotary Day of Service on Saturday, May 18th found Pawling’s Rotary club members, along with school community partners Pawling Administrators Association, Pawling High School National Honor Society, Pawling Middle School National Honor Society, and Team Community at Pawling Elementary School collecting much-needed toiletries for the client families of the Pawling Resource Center. From 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Rotarians Nick and Suzanne Madeo, Jeff Asher, Medina Khalil, Stefan Gramenz, Scott Shafer, Lori Johnson and Susan Stone, along with Rotarian event chair and school superintendent Kim Fontana, staffed the table that was set up just outside the entrance to CVS. School administrators Scott Rice and Audrey Feliciano, Pawling High School students Nick Demarta, Elizabeth Keel, Charlotte Genesi, and Marlene Ruiz, and Pawling Middle School student Madison Woodin handed out flyers with lists of needed items to CVS shoppers, and organized the donated personal care items, diapers, paper goods, and other toiletries for delivery to the Pawling Resource Center.
Through the generosity of CVS Saturday shoppers, this day of service exceeded all expectations with the collection of 294 pounds of essential products. Pawling Rotary and project partners are grateful to all those who contributed to the success of this event.
Pawling Resource Center executive director Olga Brandenberger was thrilled with the positive outcome for PRC client families. “These contributions will be distributed to local families in need, showcasing the power of community spirit and generosity,” she commented. “We would like to thank the Pawling Rotary Club for doing such an amazing job!”
