Michael Alexander, the PRC’s new Executive Director, recently announced a new service that has been secured by the Resource Center for the benefit of all Pawling residents.  As outlined by Mr. Alexander, “The PRC has established a collaborative partnership with Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health and Sun River Health to launch ‘Mobile Mondays’ at the PRC.  This initiative provides free health services to any Dutchess County community, including vaccinations, health check-ups, mental wellness screenings, and preventative medicine consultations; and anyone within the Pawling Community is eligible to take advantage of this new service.”

In consultation with Livia Santiago-Rosado, MD, FACEP, Dutchess County Commissioner of Behavioral and Community Health; and Aisha Phillips, MPH, Public Health Communications Specialist; the PRC will host mobile Mondays on the PRC property six times per year.  Services will be provided in two mobile van units, one from Dutchess County Mobile Health and the other from Sun River Mobile Health.  Although the professionals that will be on hand may rotate, the units will be staffed by an NP (nurse practitioner), a public health specialist, a mental health specialist, and support staff.  All personal information and related health data will be kept confidential, following all relevant HIPAA guidelines and laws.

The inaugural visit for this new service was held on January 13th, at which 18 members of the Pawling community, including seniors and children, were able to have health concerns addressed.  Advance appointments are not required; however, a maximum of 35 community members can be accommodated during each visit by the mobile health units.  Hours of operation are 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  The PRC will host these visits by the mobile health units during odd-numbered months, with the next visit scheduled for March 10th.

Look for information about upcoming Mobile Mondays on the PRC website, pawlingresourcecenter.org and on Facebook.  The PRC is currently taking transportation reservations, for seniors or those who are homebound, for the March Mobile Monday event.  Call or email info@pawlingresourcecenter.org to schedule a ride.
