In Honor of Bette Slocum

It is with heavy hearts that I write to share the passing of our cherished friend and long-time volunteer, Bette Slocum.

For nearly 40 years, Bette was a steadfast cornerstone of the Pawling Resource Center. Many of us knew her as a fixture in the office every Tuesday, reliably answering phones and scheduling rides for those in need. Beyond her quiet, weekly dedication, she was, as you know, the true impetus behind our annual Adopt-a-Family holiday program. Because of her vision and tireless advocacy, countless families in our community have experienced the warmth and dignity of the season over the decades.

This is an immense loss for the PRC family. While we mourn her passing, Bette's legacy of compassion and unwavering service will forever remain a guiding light for our organization and the work we do.
