The board of directors of the Pawling Resource Center has announced that the 18th annual Fayne Daniels Walkathon will take place on September 13th at the pavilion at Lakeside Park in Pawling. As in past years, walkers are invited to bring their pups, friends and teams to enjoy the beautiful mile long designated walking trail at Lakeside.
PRC Board Chair, Mario Mejorado shared, "The Fayne Daniels Walkathon is more than just a fundraiser, it’s a celebration of community, resilience, and generosity for the Pawling Resource Center. On September 13, 2025, we come together to walk for a purpose, supporting vital resources that uplift lives and strengthen our town. Every step taken, every dollar raised, honors the legacy of Fayne Daniels and brings us closer to a future where support and kindness know no bounds.” Mario concluded with a heartfelt invitation to the entire community. “Join us in making this our most memorable Walkathon yet!"
This year, The PRC will have food trucks on hand, as well as music, games, and prizes awaiting event walkers. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and the walk will begin at 11 with the trail clearly marked by the Walkathon planning team. The PRC Walk-a-Thon is the singular fundraiser for the Center, raising money for Pawling’s neighbors in need. Funds raised will support the PRC’s food pantry and transportation services.
In the past year, 2,191 visits were made to the PRC’s food pantry and transportation services were used 326 times, which included rides to doctor’s offices and to shop both at the food pantry as well as to the supermarket, and deliveries made from the food pantry and grocery shopping for community members in need of enhanced services.
Community members who wish to form a team, walk individually or become a sponsor, may contact the Resource Center for information about participating. Inquiries may be made by calling 855-3459 during normal business hours. According to Michael Alexander, Executive Director, the center’s new software technology is specifically geared to accommodate the fundraising needs of small not-for-profits. He noted, "The power of Bloomerang's peer-to-peer fundraising technology will not only streamline our efforts but also empower our wonderful supporters to become even more deeply involved in helping us serve the Pawling community through this beloved event.
