One thing everyone agrees on is that volunteerism makes a big difference in any community. The Pawling Resource Center is a volunteer organization where the neighbors help neighbors in many remarkable ways. These are the folks who have contributed time and services; who have worked tirelessly to serve other and to make a difference here in Pawling, the volunteers that even the presidents of the United States had in mind when they said:

A volunteer is a person who can see what others cannot see; who can feel what most do not feel. Often, such gifted persons do not think of themselves as volunteers, but as citizens – citizens in the fullest sense; partners in civilization.
  -George H. W. Bush

Volunteers are vital to enabling this country to live up to the true promise of its heritage.
 – Bill Clinton

No matter how big and powerful government gets, and the many services it provides, it can never take the place of volunteers.
    – Ronald Reagan

Throughout my life, I’ve seen the difference that volunteering efforts can make in people’s lives. I know the personal value of service as a local volunteer.
    -Jimmy Carter

Please consider volunteering. We can use your help.
