“Season of Giving” is celebrated at Pawling Resource Center with support from Dutchess County and AT&T

  The  Pawling Resource Center celebrates the start of the “Season of Giving” with a visit from a few Dutchess County supporters. Dutchess County Sheriff Butch Anderson continues to support the center with donations of holiday food.  For the past several years, AT&T has made a generous donation for the purchase of holiday turkeys and other items, through the efforts of Ed Bergstraesser, Director of External Affairs.  Assemblyman Kieran Michael Lalor generously designates a portion of his annual food drive results for the PRC.  All gathered on Tuesday November 14th to...

United Way volunteers ready the Pawling Resource Center for winter and holiday giving!

United Way of Dutchess and Orange County sponsors annually a “Make A Difference Day”.  On October 28th volunteers gathered at the Pawling Resource Center to help ready the Center for winter and Holiday activities. Participants came from Poughkeepsie and other Dutchess locations, and as far away as Queens, New York, and New Jersey.  The party of 15 volunteers assisted with painting, outdoor cleanup, wrapping holiday gifts and baskets, and picking up donated Hannaford’s boxes.  The Pawling Resource Center staff and Board thanks the volunteers and United Way for their generous...

Fun and camaraderie highlight the PRC’s 10th annual “Walk So They May Ride”

  The Pawling Resource Center’s 10 Annual “Walk So They May Ride” event took place on Saturday September 23rd, a beautiful sunny morning. Positively Pawling packs the PRC Pantry!

On Saturday September 16, the kind folks from Positively Pawling set up a table and collected items for the Food Pantry of the Pawling Resource Center.   Glenn Carey led this fine band of do-gooders and posted a list of needed items the previous week for the Trinity Pawling faculty and on Facebook.  The following items were collected through community generosity:   435 rolls of Paper towels & TP and tissues boxes, food, personal care & cleaning items totaling 655 lbs., 205 diapers and packs of wipes, plus $613 in contributions and a $25 Hannaford’s gift card! Reverend Jon Ellingworth to Lead a Congregation in Iowa

Pawling Resource Center Board Chairman Rev. Jon Ellingworth, Pastor at The Lutheran Church of Christ The King in Pawling, has been called to lead the congregation at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waverly, Iowa. Pastor Ellingworth will address his parishioners for the final time on August 27, and will be feted with a farewell luncheon after services. He will be installed in his new position in Iowa on September 10th. Rev. Ellingworth came to Pawling fifteen years ago, directly from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
