Helping the PRC is as Easy as 1-2-3!

Article by Susanna Morrow I recently came across a letter to the editor of the Pawling-Patterson News Chronicle written by my grandfather, John A. Pawling community gives generously to the PRC this Holiday season!

The Pawling Resource Center has been busy this holiday Season! Each year the Center sponsors an Adopt-a-Family program, which anonymously matches families or groups that wish to purchase gifts with Pawling families who need help to provide a joyful Christmas for their children. The adopting families then purchase toys and clothing for those children, in response to a “wish list” created by the adopted family. This month, every Hannaford Helps Bag sold at the Hannaford store location(s): 162 Route 22, Pawling NY Will generate a $1 donation during the month of December to support  Pawling Resource Center!  Hannaford Helps bags with the “Good Karma” message can be found on the reusable bag rack and at various registers. “Season of Giving” is celebrated at Pawling Resource Center with support from Dutchess County and AT&T

  The  Pawling Resource Center celebrates the start of the “Season of Giving” with a visit from a few Dutchess County supporters. Dutchess County Sheriff Butch Anderson continues to support the center with donations of holiday food.  For the past several years, AT&T has made a generous donation for the purchase of holiday turkeys and other items, through the efforts of Ed Bergstraesser, Director of External Affairs.  Assemblyman Kieran Michael Lalor generously designates a portion of his annual food drive results for the PRC.  All gathered on Tuesday November 14th to...

United Way volunteers ready the Pawling Resource Center for winter and holiday giving!

United Way of Dutchess and Orange County sponsors annually a “Make A Difference Day”.  On October 28th volunteers gathered at the Pawling Resource Center to help ready the Center for winter and Holiday activities. Participants came from Poughkeepsie and other Dutchess locations, and as far away as Queens, New York, and New Jersey.  The party of 15 volunteers assisted with painting, outdoor cleanup, wrapping holiday gifts and baskets, and picking up donated Hannaford’s boxes.  The Pawling Resource Center staff and Board thanks the volunteers and United Way for their generous...
