Pawling community gives generously to the PRC this Holiday season!

The Pawling Resource Center has been busy this holiday Season! Each year the Center sponsors an Adopt-a-Family program, which anonymously matches families or groups that wish to purchase gifts with Pawling families who need help to provide a joyful Christmas for their children. The adopting families then purchase toys and clothing for those children, in response to a “wish list” created by the adopted family. The PRC often adds a few toys donated by Toys for Tots, local business and other individuals.

This season, 65 families were adopted, receiving gifts purchased with love and care. In addition, the PRC offers wrapped age appropriate gifts to local families who come in too late to be adopted. Community members donate gift cards for food and clothing for those who need, and bags of small gifts to distribute to seniors. Many volunteers, supervised by longtime volunteer Bette Slocum, organize, wrap and distribute the gifts to local families.

Often there are a few tears of gratitude expressed when families come to pick up their gifts. The Pawling community is very generous in supporting this program, which brings joy and holiday cheer into the homes of so many at Christmas.

The PRC thanks the following groups and businesses that collected and donated food, gifts and other items for these holidays:
