Pawling Resource Center Gearing Up For Winter

Posted on Oct 17, 2016

As winter approaches, The Pawling Resource Center is preparing for colder weather by making room for donations of winter outer wear. Donations of winter coats, jackets, hats and gloves are now being sought to have on hand before frigid temperatures set in.

Donations may be brought to the center located at 126 East Main Street in Pawling. The center will accept donations that are gently used and in good condition. Jackets and coats are being sought in both adult and children’s sizes.

The Resource Centers regular services continue year round. These include¬†providing rides for medical appointments and loans of medical equipment such as walkers, hospital beds and other ambulatory equipment. The Center’s food pantry is continuously re-stocked for those in need. The Center has expanded its food pantry services by arranging delivery to homebound residents within the community and offers rides to food shop at Hannaford’s on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month.

Additionally, a SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) consultant is on site once a month for those who would like information about this valuable program. This month the consultant, Elena Dalia from Catholic Charities, will be available on the 19th. Dress for Success referrals are available for anyone seeking employment who needs that all important interview outfit or business suit, or help with compiling an outstanding resume.
