The Pawling Resource Center has recently been the recipient of a grant from the United Way of the Dutchess – Orange Region to support our Senior Transportation Program, as part of their “Crisis Intervention” initiative.

Residents of Pawling can request transport to a medical appointment or test, if the appointment is at a facility within a 45 minute range of Pawling. Volunteer drivers give their time and compassionate service to drive and assist the clients with their needs to make it to the appointments. This program is also supported by the Dutchess County Office for the Aging.

The Pawling Resource Center is always in need of volunteer drivers to assist us with providing this service. A valid, clean driver’s license and a willingness to help are the requirements to volunteer for this service. Our wonderful volunteers attest that the experience of driving, and interacting with the clients, has many joys and rewards.
